    3 lectures and 1 3-hour lab per week. P: CHEM 1120  and CHEM 1130 ; CHEM 2750  or CHEM 2770 . Structure and function of cells. Emphasis on physico-chemical aspects. Current status of major problems such as gene function, photosynthesis, contraction, active transport, and nerve cell function.
