It is highly recommended that graduate level course work in coastal natural and social sciences, including coastal geosciences, coastal ecology, coastal human dimensions, and coastal economics and policy, is taken either prior to or concurrently with this course. Development of the integrative thought processes needed to determine the critical variables to be obtained and the team of scientists needed to be assembled when developing and implementing solutions for complex problems facing coastal and marine systems.
