Philosophy Honors Program

The purpose of junior-senior honors in philosophy is to encourage independent research and scholarship and to give students an opportunity to better prepare themselves for graduate study. Under the direction of one member of the department, a student enrolled in this program (PHIL 3550 , PHIL 4550 ) carries on studies (as based on a reading list), prepares for a comprehensive examination at the end of the junior year, and writes a thesis during the first semester of the senior year. Students who have an interest in this program should come to the departmental office in A-327 Brewster Building for details.

Religious Studies Program

A religious studies minor and a multidisciplinary major with a structured concentration in religious studies is offered through the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences Interdisciplinary Programs.
