1. Policy Changes
a. Revised Policies
- The Admit by Exception Policy was revised to clarify that students who are admitted by exception and do not attain a GPA of 3.0 or higher after completion of nine or more graduate credits will be recommended for dismissal. (GC: 23-06; FS Res # 23-54)
- An editorial revision was made to the Thesis/Dissertation: Research, Examination, Preparation, and Delivery Policy to clarify that the online Non-Exclusive Distribution License form is no longer needed since this form will be completed at the time of the students’s electronic submission in the Vireo system. (GC: 23-11; FS Res # 23-72)
- The Time Limits for Completing Graduate Programs Policy was revised to clarify that programs have the option of offering more time to complete a graduate program by completing the official time extension request form which is reviewed by the Graduate School and later approved by the Graduate Council Executive Council. There was also a revision to clarify that the years for degree completion is measured by calendar year. (GC: 23-13; FS Res #24-01)
- Thesis/Dissertation Policy was revised to provide clarity. (GC: 24-07; FS Res #24-40)
- A revision was made to the admissions policy for accelerated programs allowing programs that opt in to waive graduate application materials, except for official transcripts, for students that meet the accelerated program’s advanced standing requirements. See Accelerated Program Guidelines, 4. b.(GC: 24-07; FS Res #24-40)
- A Sustainability Designation for Graduate Courses was approved to help expose and ensure sustainabiltiy literacy among students that graduate from ECU. (GC: 24-05; FS Res # 24-24)
