Policy Changes

1. New Policies

• Foundations of American Democracy (FS Res #25-12; FS: 2-25-2025; Chancellor: 4-4-2025) See Academic Advisement, Progression and Support Services ; Additional Requirements for Degrees; Foundations of American Democracy.

2. Policies Temporarily Suspended

• Undergraduate/Graduate Non-Degree Dual Enrollment Policy
  • Suspension is effective immediately while the Graduate School pursues formal policy review and potential revision through the Graduate Council. 
  • Approvals: GC as recorded in the 4-21-2025 Graduate Council meeting minutes and approved by the Provost on 4-30-2025.

3. This catalog also includes a section entitled University Policies  for policies that impact all ECU students. Revisions have been made to an existing policy and another policy is expected to be revised prior to the beginning of fall semester. 

• The former Policy of the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina Concerning Improper Relationships Between Students and Employees has been replaced with the UNC Policy on Interpersonal Relations among Faculty, Staff, and Students. For any questions related to the Policy , please contact the  Department for People Operations, Success, and Opportunity; 252-328-9847.
• The Substance Use Policy was substantively revised and is now entitled the Illegal Drugs and Substance Use Policy.
