GEOL 3200 - Introduction to Field Methods

2 lecture and 3 lab hours per week are required. Four-day three-night field trip required. P: GEOL 1500 or GEOL 1600 or GEOL 1700; C: GEOL 3201.

Introduces concepts of scientific thinking and problem solving in the field. Techniques include scientific note taking, description, sampling, measurements, and principles of field mapping. Student-collected field data is the basis for multi-component final project.
