THEA 3090 - Acting the Song

90 studio contact hours per semester are required. Students must have qualified status for the BFA musical theatre program prior to registering for this course. P: THEA 1100 or consent of instructor.

This course enables students to analyze songs as dramatic texts and apply interpretive and performance techniques to transform narrative and non-dramatic material into active, character-driven events. Through guided exploration of lyric, music, and circumstance, students synthesize acting and vocal skills to create authentic and dynamic musical performances.
