Dietetic Internship Program

The dietetic internship is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Education for Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. ACEND is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the United States Department of Education. Enrollment is limited and admission is competitive. Admission requires a Verification Statement of completion of a bachelor’s degree and didactic program in dietetics requirements; GRE test scores; and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. For internship only, DICAS computer matching is required and the application deadline is mid-February.  Once admitted to the dietetic internship program, students are required to apply as a nondegree graduate student.  The dietetic internship program provides supervised practice in three required areas: clinical nutrition; foodservice management; and community nutrition with a rural health component.  The program requires an orientation course (NUTR 4800), a management course (NUTR 6600 ),  and 4 practicum courses (NUTR 6031 , NUTR 6032 , NUTR 6033 , NUTR 6102 ).  Additional information and an application are available from the dietetic internship director.
