The project management certificate prepares graduates for employment as project leaders and managers with hands-on project management experience and the knowledge necessary to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management Certification (CAPM) or the Project Management Institute (PMI) professional certificate exams. The program offers four courses in topics such as project planning, monitoring and control, execution, team work, leadership, and other advanced topics. The courses can be taken in sequence or individually, out of sequence. No previous knowledge of project management is required to take the group of courses, however, if taken out of order prior knowledge is recommended.
Acceptance for applicants is dependent upon, but not limited to, one of the following:
- those who have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7, or
- those who have 5 years of progressive professional experience and an undergraduate degree
- those who hold a graduate degree
- those pursuing a graduate degree in another discipline at East Carolina University
