Theatre Arts, BA

The Theatre Arts, BA enables students to pursue the study of theatre in a liberal arts context, gaining a broad and interdisciplinary background in all of the elements of theatre practice and academic study including acting, costume, lighting, scenic design, as well as script analysis, theatre history and literature, and courses in playwriting, dramaturgy, theatre management, and theatre for social change.  

Theatre arts majors must attain a minimum grade of C- (1.7) in all required theatre courses and must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in major coursework. All theatre courses are restricted to declared theatre arts majors. Enrollment by other majors requires permission of the instructor.

Minimum degree requirement is 120 s.h. of credit as follows:

1. General education requirements including those listed below - 40 s.h.

2. Demonstrated foreign language proficiency through level 2004 - 12 s.h.

4. Concentrations - 12-15 s.h.

5. Minor and electives to complete requirements for graduation.


Note:


The theatre management concentration requires the business administration minor or the communication, communication studies minor.
