The marketing certificate is for those individuals seeking advanced knowledge and skills in the area of marketing. The certificate allows for extremely accelerated training in marketing and the participant can focus on those areas of marketing yielding the greatest interest. The certificate requires the participant to complete marketing management or marketing strategy and any three other marketing courses, which can include sports marketing, social media marketing, advertising and promotion strategies, business-to-business marketing, sustainability marketing, and global marketing. The courses can be taken in any sequence. No previous knowledge of marketing is required to complete the certificate.

Admission requirements:
Acceptance into the certificate program is dependent upon, but not limited to, one of the following:
- a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7
- five years of progressive professional experience and an undergraduate degree
- a graduate degree
- enrollment in a graduate degree program in the UNC system
Certificate requirements:
The certificate requires 12 s.h. as follows:
Elective courses - 9 s.h.
(Choose any three 6000-level MKTG courses.)
Note:
If MKTG 6822 is selected as the required course instead of MKTG 6162, MKTG 6162 cannot be taken as one of the 9 s.h. electives for this program. If MKTG 6162 is the selected required course, MKTG 6822 can be taken as one of the 9 s.h. electives for this program.
