The project management certificate prepares graduates for employment as project leaders and managers with hands-on project management experience and the knowledge necessary to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management Certification (CAPM) or the Project Management Professional (PMP) professional certificate exams. The program offers four courses in topics such as project planning, monitoring and control, execution, team work, leadership, and other advanced topics. The courses can be taken in sequence or individually. No previous knowledge of project management is required to take the group of courses, however, if taken out of order prior knowledge is highly recommended.

Admissions requirements:

Acceptance into the certificate program is dependent upon, but not limited to, one of the following:

  • a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7
  • 5 years of progressive professional experience and an undergraduate degree
  • a graduate degree
  • enrollment in a graduate degree program at East Carolina University
