Rehabilitation Studies Certificate

The Rehabilitation Studies Certificate provides basic knowledge and information needed to work as a professional in this specialized area. The certificate program includes specialized training in rehabilitation studies and may prepare counselors to partially meet the basic academic requirements to be eligible to take the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Exam. This certificate is open to those who possess a clinical graduate degree in counseling or related field or students currently enrolled in a graduate counseling or related field degree program.

Retention Standards


Good academic standing in accordance with the ECU Graduate School guidelines is required.

  • Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in all required courses for the certificate to graduate.

Students not maintaining the criteria above may be placed on academic probation in accordance with Graduate School policies.

​In addition, the program has specific regulations:

  • No course may be repeated to earn the certificate; and
  • Receiving a grade of F in any required certificate course is an automatic dismissal.

Students not maintaining the criteria will be dismissed from the program in accordance with departmental policies.
