Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certificate

The certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) helps prepare professionals planning to teach English as a second language (ESL) in the US or English as a foreign language (EFL) overseas. Applicants seeking admission should be undergraduate students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at ECU. Students must earn grades of C or higher in all certificate courses in order to remain in the program and successfully complete it.

The certificate requires 12 s.h. as follows:
