The Sport Management Certificate enables students to gain professional competencies in the business functions of sport. Students examine the social and business functions of sport through a diverse course selection. Upon completion of the certificate, individuals will have the job skills to obtain employment with collegiate, professional, corporate, scholastic, nonprofit event management, and allied organizations. Sport management careers include, but are not limited to, athletic director, business manager, athletic student development specialist, community relations manager, facility manager, research analyst, and marketing director.
The certificate is available to graduate-level students across all disciplines. Current ECU students must obtain the approval of the director of graduate studies of the program in which they are enrolled, as well as the approval of the graduate director in recreation sciences.
