The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certificate (TESOL) helps prepare professionals planning to teach English as a second language (ESL) in the US or English as a foreign language (EFL) overseas. Applicants seeking admission should be undergraduate students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at ECU. Students must earn grades of C or higher in all certificate courses in order to remain in the program and successfully complete it.
Admission is limited to students matriculating at ECU in an undergraduate degree-seeking program. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours and attained a minimum 2.5 overall cumulative grade point average.
