Sport Management Certificate

The Sport Management Certificate enables students to gain professional competencies in the business functions of sport. Students examine the social and business functions of sport through a diverse course selection. Upon completion of the certificate, individuals will have the job skills to obtain employment with collegiate, professional, corporate, scholastic, nonprofit event management, and allied organizations. Sport management careers include, but are not limited to, athletic director, business manager, athletic student development specialist, community relations manager, facility manager, research analyst, and marketing director.

This certificate is open to students who are: (1) pursuing their graduate degree or (2) as a stand-alone option for those that hold an undergraduate degree and relevant sport experience. Current ECU students should complete the graduate school form to add the certificate to their degree plan. New or returning prospective students should apply through the graduate school admissions portal.
