The Birth through Kindergarten Educator Residency Certificate is designed to prepare students to apply knowledge in planning, instruction, and assessment of early childhood curriculum to teach young children, including those with disabilities. The program focuses on developing the skills needed to create inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environments for children in this age range.
Students who successfully complete the program will have met the coursework requirements for licensure.
The certificate is available exclusively to students who hold a North Carolina Birth through Kindergarten Residency Teacher Candidate designation.
Students can opt to take an additional 6 s.h. of practical application coursework that compliments required coursework.
