GEOL 6550 - Principles of Geophysics

2 1-hour lectures per week are required. P: GEOL 3300, 3301; PHYS 1250, 1260; or equivalents; C: GEOL 6551. Introduction to near-surface geophysical methods for mapping the ground at shallow depths. The course will introduce fundamental principles from major branches of geophysics including: gravity, magnetic, seismology, electrical, and electromagnetic methods. Emphasis is given on practical environmental applications of these methods.
