HIED 6222 - Advanced Inquiry, Learning Theory, Curriculum and Assessment in 6-12th Grade Social Studies Classroom 3
For graduate residency qualified teachers. RP: HIED 6111 . Through exploring learning theories and brain-based research, teacher residents will gain a deep understanding of how students learn and how these theories inform instructional choices. The course focuses on organizing content, aligning with North Carolina Standards, and using academic language to enhance student achievement. Candidates will create unit plans driven by inquiry-based questions and break these into lesson objectives for planning. The course also covers formative and summative assessments.
