The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers a master of arts in Hispanic studies. The degree program provides students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of Hispanic cultures and develop advanced Spanish language skills. The program is a distinct, student-centered experience that emphasizes engaged learning with the option for the student to design a research project based on community service. Many classes are offered online. There is also a graduate certificate in Hispanic studies. Students who complete graduate work in Hispanic studies pursue careers in healthcare, business, communications, law and education, to name a few, and they become more marketable, and get hired faster at a higher salary.
The Department also offers an advanced language and culture option in the master of arts in international studies and a Hispanic studies teaching area in the master of arts in teaching (MAT).
