The Departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Integrative Physiology and Metabolism; Microbiology and Immunology; and Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) participate in a doctor of philosophy in biomedical sciences. The program is administered through the Office of Research and Graduate Studies . The educational objectives of these doctoral programs are to foster scholarship, critical analysis, and creative research activity in a particular field of study. Additionally, the Office of Research and Graduate Studies  administers a master of science in biomedical sciences.

The BSOM Department of Public Health  offers a doctor of public health, a master of public health, and two post-baccalaureate certificate programs (ethnic and rural health disparities and public health foundations and practice). A MD/MPH dual degree program is is also available for currently enrolled medical students who have passed the STEP 1 exam, and for physicians in residency training programs. These programs prepare students for management and leadership positions in public health and the health care fields.

Courses are also offered by a number of BSOM departments beyond those offering graduate programs. These courses cover a range of topics, such interdisciplinary rural health education (IRHE), medical humanities (HUMS), comparative medicine (CMED), neuroscience (NEUR), oncology (ONCO), pathology (PATH), and radiation oncology (RONC).
