The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Brody School of Medicine prepares students to begin a career related to studying the biological actions of chemicals. The Department’s goal in this process is to provide students the necessary skills and background to become independent research scientists. Recognizing that many alternative careers also exist for graduates, the Department strives to provide a breadth of exposure and direction that permits students to contribute effectively and successfully in many other types of employment opportunities.

The Department participates in the Biomedical Sciences, PhD  offered by the BSOM Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
