Alan Christensen, Chair
The Department of Psychology offers a doctor of philosophy in health psychology with concentrations in clinical health, occupational health, and pediatric school psychology. Our doctoral program is among the most innovative in the country with an emphasis on health psychology in business, medical, and school settings.
We also offer a master’s degree in psychology with concentrations in industrial and organizational psychology, clinical psychology and school psychology (clinical and school are nonterminal MA degrees earned with the CAS or PhD degrees), and a certificate of advanced study (CAS) in school psychology.
All graduate programs are designed to provide an applied and theoretical basis in the foundations of psychology, research design/analysis, and practice competencies associated with the area of subspecialty.
The clinical health and pediatric school concentrations within the health psychology, PhD program are accredited by the American Psychological Association. The school psychology, MA, CAS program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists and the NC Department of Public Instruction.
Please see each program area for specific requirements. Requirements of both the Department of Psychology and the Graduate School must be met before a degree is awarded.
