The Department of Mathematics requires that the applicant meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School and have an undergraduate major in mathematics or its near equivalent. Each applicant’s credentials will be reviewed by the director of graduate studies, who will determine if undergraduate deficiencies are present and, if so, will prescribe the method of their removal and determine a precondition for admission.
