Military and Civilian Trauma Studies Certificate

The Military and Civilian Trauma Studies Certificate prepares counselors or related professionals to provide appropriate and effective counseling services for both civilian and veteran/military populations exposed to trauma. This certificate is open to those who possess a clinical graduate degree in counseling or related field or students currently enrolled in a graduate counseling or related field degree program.
The certificate requires 12 s.h. as follows:

Retention Standards
Good academic standing in accordance with the ECU Graduate School guidelines is required.
- Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in all required courses for the certificate to graduate.
Students not maintaining the criteria above may be placed on academic probation in accordance with Graduate School policies.
In addition, the program has specific regulations:
- No course may be repeated to earn the certificate; and
- Receiving a grade of F in any required certificate course is an automatic dismissal.
Students not maintaining the criteria will be dismissed from the program in accordance with departmental policies.
