SOCI 4950 - Practicum in Sociology

140 work and academic hours per semester for 3 s.h. credit. Practicum must be arranged at least 30 days before term begins. May be taken concurrently for a maximum of 9 s.h. P: SOCI major; 27 s.h. in SOCI with a minimum grade of C (2.0) in each course; consent of dept chair, practicum coordinator, and faculty member who will supervise the practicum. P: A passing grade in one of the following courses: SOCI 1010 or SOCI 2110 or SOCI 2111. Supervised internship in area of applied sociology. Practical experience in research or agency work. Parallel readings and study. Emphasis on guided application of concepts and principles from related courses and structured readings to applied situations.
