3 lecture hours per week. P: ENGR 2050; minimum grade of C (2.0) in ENGR 2450; MATH 2154 or both ENGR 2001 and MATH 4331; P/C: CHEM 2750, CHEM 2753. Engineering applications and analytical models for microbiology, biochemistry, and genetic engineering. Applies engineering principles such as protein, lipid, carbohydrate and nucleic acid biochemistry to enzyme kinetics and regulation, metabolic pathways, and mass transfer to biological processes and how cellular formation is altered.
