3 lecture hours per week. P: GEOL 1600, GEOL 2000, GEOL 3070, GEOL 3071; C: GEOL 4011. Analysis of processes and products of sedimentation. Flow mechanics and sedimentary structures, depositional systems, sedimentation and tectonics, the effects of sea level on depositional systems, methods of description and classification of sediments and sedimentary rocks, and preparation of sedimentologic field reports.
