P: MATH 2300 with a minimum grade of C- (1.7) or equivalent. Fundamental concepts and structural development of mathematics. Non-Euclidean geometries, logic, Boolean algebra, and set theory. Construction of complex number systems. Transfinite cardinal numbers and study of relations and functions. Topics developed axiomatically.
