The Department of Computer Science strives to equip future leaders with the skills necessary to succeed in both private industry and academia. This is done by providing high quality instruction combined with research opportunities in computer science, software engineering, and related disciplines. Computer science takes a wide approach to the study of the principles that cover theory and application. The field focuses on data, data transformation, and algorithms. Software engineering is the application of the creation, design, development, and maintenance of software.
