The Global Understanding Certificate is designed to help students develop an understanding and an appreciation of the peoples, issues and ideas within the global community. Students have an opportunity to take courses with an international content, study a foreign language at the introductory level, and learn about people in other countries through both Internet contact and actual study in an international setting.

A minimum cumulate 2.5 GPA is required for admission. Students must maintain a 2.5 average in the certificate courses to receive the Global Understanding Certificate.

The foreign language requirement may be waived for international students whose native language is not English, in which case six additional s.h. of approved electives are required.
