Nutrition Minor

The Nutrition Minor is geared towards those students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in scientific, clinical, or medical/health based fields. It may also assist in providing a strong knowledge base for students planning to attend graduate or medical school. Our courses in the minor provide students with a strong fundamental knowledge of complex interaction between foods and our bodies. The minor is also encouraged to students who are planning a future in the hospitality and/or food service industries.

The minor requires 23-24 s.h. as follows:

NUTR 2105 - Nutrition Science
NUTR 2330 - Food Science
NUTR 3104 - Advanced Vitamins and Minerals or
NUTR 3105 - Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism
NUTR 3311 - Life Cycle Nutrition

2. Cognates - 8-9 s.h.

Choose 9 credits from the BIOL courses or 8 credits from the CHEM courses.
