Criminal Law and Legal Process Minor

The minor in criminal law and legal process focuses on criminal law, criminal procedure, the judiciary and court process, and critical reasoning. It is a natural complement to the criminal justice major, particularly for those students preparing for law school, but would also benefit students in related fields, such as history, philosophy, political science, and sociology.

The minor is open to any qualified ECU student. To be admitted, students must complete CRIM 1000  with a grade of C (2.0) or higher, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. All CRIM courses taken as part of the minor must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or higher. Students are expected to maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 throughout the program. Only 6 s.h. of CRIM courses used for the minor may count towards the criminal justice major.
